When you search for information about season seven of The Walking Dead, it’s hard to sift through all of the rumors. It seems that all you can find are theories about who Negan may have killed.
What about the rest of the season? What do we actually know?

To be honest, there isn’t much out there that’s been confirmed. Certain things make a lot of sense when you add in speculation and comic storylines, but most haven’t been confirmed by the producers.
That being said, we do know a few things. These things may not seem like much, but it’s enough to get a solid footing heading into the new season.

Negan Kills At Least One Person
Haven’t we talked about this one enough? Yes, Negan kills someone. In all likelihood, he will take multiple victims in the premiere alone.
What’s terrifying is that episode won’t be the end.
Negan will kill multiple characters throughout the season. There will be one or two during the premiere, and he will probably spread the rest out over the next 10 episodes.
Spencer is a likely victim for Negan down the road, as is Sasha. Daryl will find himself in a tough spot, but nothing else points to his death quite yet.
Negan loves to swing his bat, he loves to kill. There’s not a chance that stops after one episode. You may not want to hear it, but a ton of characters will die this season.
Maggie’s Pregnancy Isn’t Going Well
When the group got lined up in front of Negan, Maggie was seriously struggling. It’s been made clear that she’s pregnant, but there are some complications.
When the group got captured, they were trying to get Maggie back to the doctor due to her declining state. The growth of the baby was having a brutal impact on Maggie’s insides, and her appearance was evidence of that.
As everyone was put on their knees, Maggie’s condition was worsened. She nearly passed out from the pain and, let’s face it, it was only going to get worse.
If Maggie doesn’t get help soon, she will die. That isn’t a theory, it’s a medical condition.
We Meet Ezekiel
We will likely meet many new characters in season seven, but only one has been confirmed. It’s also worth noting, that only one of these characters has white dreadlocks and a pet tiger.
Ezekiel is the leader of a community called The Kingdom, and he is a major character in The Walking Dead comics. Since we’ve seen Eziekel in the series trailers, he’s 100% a part of this season.
In addition to Ezekiel, we get another character that’s even more bad-ass: Shiva the Tiger.
Before the infection, Ezekiel was a zoo keeper. Many of the workers at the zoo ran off, but Ezekiel stayed there for protection. He had worked with Shiva for years, and the tiger was trained well enough to stick by his side after they made their escape.
Ezekiel and Shiva are exciting characters, and they are going to really enhance The Walking Dead.
Carol Is Suicidal
Maggie isn’t the only who’s starting the season in a really bad way. Carol is clearly experiencing a breakdown in the worst way.
At the end of season six, Carol was actively trying to engrave her own tombstone. How else can you explain walking up to a group of armed men, with no cover, and open fire?
As Carol and Morgan approach The Kingdom, Carol will have more and more trouble convincing herself that she has a purpose. While someone without purpose can be dangerous, being a danger to yourself poses no threat.
Hopefully Morgan and Ezekiel can talk some sense into Carol over the course of the season. If not, she won’t make it long.
We Will Meet All Of The Communities
Throughout The Walking Dead comics, there is a group of four communities that the characters bounce between. This season, we will finally have them all.
We’ve gotten to know Alexandria over the last couple of years, and that community will stay standing, despite Negan’s efforts.
Hilltop is the next community, and we got a glimpse of that one in season six. If you remember, Hilltop is where Jesus it from. It’s surrounded by a large wall, it has crops that actually grow, and their leader got stabbed by one of his own people. There has only been a small taste of Hilltop so far, but it’s the most important community going forward, aside from Alexandria.
Next, we have The Kingdom. This is where Ezekiel is from, as we mentioned in the previous slide. Survivors took control of an old community college after the infection, and the set up turned out to be a great spot for anyone hiding from the walkers.
Finally, we will see Sanctuary. This community is in a gated factory, and it is home to Negan and the Saviors. There’s plenty of speculation as to who Negan will take back home with him after the premiere, but audiences will experience it nontheless.
Rick Faces His Toughest Battle Yet
Rick has been through it all since he woke up from his coma. At least, that’s what he thought.
Negan is an opponent unlike any Rick has ever seen before. He’s more clever than The Governor, more ruthless than The Wolves, and he is a bigger bad-ass than Shane could have ever dreamed of becoming.
To top it all off, Negan handles his business with a smile on his face. He enjoys what he does, and that makes him even more dangerous.
No one has been able to out-strategize Rick up to this point, but Negan is more than capable. He trapped Rick into a corner, and surprised the entire group with his show of force.
Negan will make Rick’s head spin, and it will take every ounce of strength Rick has to overcome it. He can do it, but it may cost more than he’s willing to pay.
Morgan Is Changing Again
When the series first started, Morgan was nothing more than a strong father. He gave every ounce of courage to protect his son, but it wasn’t enough.
The next time we saw Morgan, in season three, he was out of his mind. Without Dwayne to keep him uplifted, the guy turned into the worst kind of psycopath. He enjoyed the violence to no end, and he was often trapped inside his own mind.
Rick left his friend alone, but Morgan caught back up.
Now, we know Morgan as the most peaceful man on the planet. He has learned that all life is precious, and he is now the voice of reason in Alexandria.
At least, he was.
In order to save Carol, Morgan had to kill. Instead of just firing one shot to stop his enemy, he emptied the clip. The worst part is, he didn’t even look like he was finished yet.
The Morgan we will see in season seven is not the one we’ve known for the last two years. You’ve been warned.
Season 7 Will Turn The Walking Dead Upside Down
Seriously, the best thing you can do to prepare for the new season, is just forget everything you’ve ever known about The Walking Dead. Nothing we’ve seen yet could help you understand what’s to come.
Diving into Negan’s character is difficult on its own. How can someone be so evil, yet so charming? Your thoughts about this character will have you running laps around your own mind.
In addition to people, horses and walkers, there will be a tiger. We have yet to see any kind of pet companion in The Walking Dead, not even a dog, but we’re about to get a damn tiger. The scenes with Shiva definitely won’t feel like classic Walking Dead.
The settings in this season will change, the pace will change, everything will change. Perhaps the biggest change in this season though, will be your heart.
The Walking Dead is about to completely shatter it.
